FORCE - III "Extraordinary Heros and their vehicles of justice." |

The original "Force - III" Trans-Am . Built by George Barris & Dick Dean for the 80's TV series "Force - III" |
In the late 80's legandary TV & Movie car builders George Barris & Dick Dean
built three "Vehicles of Justice" for a TV series called "Force III" .
The show was about three Vietnam vets who go together on various crime-solving
assignments with the aid of their heavily armed vehicles. The three characters included a cowboy type guy who drove a custom Jeep , a Ninja type guy who drove a custom Corvette , and a tech type guy who drove a custom Trans-Am . The Jeep featured an anti-aircraft gun that could move up & over the roll bar, an extendable push-bar, and a rotating hood-scoop which featured a 3 tube missile launcher. The Corvette was armed with a hood scoop that popped up to allow it to shoot out a large ninja star , removable dual ninja swords mounted in the front bumper , a removable baton in the drivers door , and a crossbow that came up through the motorized rear-windshield. The Trans-Am was the most heavily armed of the group. It featured four front mounted machine guns that come out from behind rotating directional lights, six rear mounted missiles that come out from behind the rear tail lights , missiles mounted under hidden panels in the drivers & passengers door , four rear-mounted anti-tank missiles and an M-134A 7.62 mm chain gun mounted in the trunk . The hood scoop also opens upward to reveal a small radio-controled plane & launcher , which the tech guy was to use for survelience . The front licence plate rotates so you can have two different plates . The car also featured a rear-mounted robot-arm . Typical to TV & Movie cars , this car has a front mounted tow-bar to allow for easy filming of on the road driving scenes. The show itself never made it as a series. Only the pilot and one episode were produced .. the show was never picked up by any network. The whereabouts of the Force III Jeep & Corvette are unknown . They haven't surfaced since the series failed. The Trans Am survived well though ! The car itself is a 1986 Trans-am . It sports a 305 engine, A/C, disc brakes, and an Automatic transmission w/ Overdrive. The car is in great shape, and has LESS THAN 1000 ORIGINAL MILES !! I purchased this car a few months back , and have drove it on a couple occasions. It's certainly the ultimate road-rage car , and a heck of an attention getter. It impressed me a lot because so many of the gadgets actually function ... which is rare in TV / Movie vehicles. Below are pics. of this interesting "vehicle of justice". Enjoy !
